Queen Victoria’s Funeral

Funeral Planning Queen Victoria had planned her funeral before her passing.  She actually passed away on the Isle of Wight but was buried at Frogmore. In 1897, the Queen left strict instructions relating to the service and ceremony. Many of these instructions set the precedent for many state funerals to this day. Despite having spent her life after Alberts death dressed in black, she dictated that her funeral be a white funeral.
