As your chosen funeral director Franklin & Hawkins are responsible for bringing your loved one into our care. Once arrangements have been made in line with your wishes, if desired we offer private chapels of rest to enable you to pay your last respects to your loved ones before the funeral.
Our arrangers will arrange the time and date of the funeral, correspond with the doctors, hospitals, crematorium/cemetery, churches and ministers on your behalf ensuring that all arrangements come together smoothly. From placing obituary notices in the newspaper to arranging special music requests, ordering floral tributes, memorial stationary or organising visual media. Whatever your wishes are, we will arrange them with dignity and professionalism.
Memorial stationary can be viewed here, and is fully customisable to suit your preferences – Franklin Hawkins Funeral Stationery Brochure
Advice on all costs, with a full estimate will be given in writing at the time of making the funeral arrangements.
The funeral costings are separated into two parts – Our fees and the disbursements (3rd party fees)
Our fees include the coffin choice, bearers, funeral cortege, bringing the deceased into our care, preparation and care of the deceased and our professional service.
The disbursement costs cover any service that is not directly provided by ourselves which includes the crematorium/cemetery, church/minister, orders of service, obituary notices, floral tributes and other hearse choices.
The first step is to consider when planning is what the deceased would prefer: what their choice was. If the deceased left funeral instructions please discuss these with us.
Even if your loved one had a funeral plan with someone else we can help.
Do not hesitate to contact us.
Funeral arrangements take time and can be quite complicated so it’s important for the next of kin or those charged with making arrangements contact Franklin and Hawkins as quickly as possible.
Our dedicated staff can guide you from start to end.
Some of the important arrangements to be made by the next of kin is to arrange the funeral wake, a service of songs and the actual burial or cremation service. After the family has set dates for the above, we can help you advertise the details and prepare the orders of service.
If the deceased belonged to a professional or Forces body, we can help with special recognition funerals. Retired military officers are usually given a military burial which we can absolutely help with. For people who were active in the church, it is expected that the church will play an important role in the burial of the departed person. Let our dedicated team know when you first contact us so that we can help you honour the deceased in a fitting manner.
As we are local residents as well as a local business we are fortunately able to recommend first hand a number of venues that you may want to explore for gathering at after the funeral service. We have compiled them here, but also feel free to ask us at any point during the arrangement process: Wake Venues in Coventry and Solihull
We’ll be by your side, helping and guiding you from the moment you call us through to the ceremony, what to do on the day and after.
